OM, Alfa-Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Ferrari and Lancia are the illustrious protagonists of this chapter. They all distinguish themselves by at least one victorious participation in the classical Mille Miglia and have thus deserved their status in this legendary race.
The depiction of this exciting motor sport epoch is not limited to the artistic interpretation of the word marks and figuratives of the car brands – I am rather looking for traces and stage historical documents, newspaper headlines and advertising. My special painting technique, which reminds of fresco painting during the Italian Renaissance, and the refinements achieved by the application of high-value materials like beaten gold and real silver, thus create a unique and self-contained work of art that looks like a valuable cultural artefact. It tells a story and delivers a distinctive snap-shot of these legends´ hour of birth.
