Ferdinand Porsche from Maffersdorf in Bohemia, who was very interested in technology, had already collected experience in the development of private vehicles and plane engines during his youth. From his office for "Konstruktion und Beratung für Motoren- und Fahrzeugbau", which he had opened in Stuttgart in 1930, the automobile factory evolved after 1945, which above all produced sports cars. Under "Ferry" Porsche the first "Porsche"-named vehicle was developed in the Austrian "Porsche-Konstruktionen-Ges.m.b.H." from 1947 onward.
In the Mille Miglia, Porsche reached eleven class victories with their models 356 and 550.
