Chapter 1 - Overall champions MPD from 1923 to 1939 »
The overall winners series broaches the issue of the winning racing car brands´ history of the 24 hours of Le Mans until the year 1939. My artistic interpretation of this glorious epoch does not constrain itself to the display of word- and figurative marks. Moreover my unique painting technique in the composition of seemingly historical documents and the ambient image material are the basis of the self-contained series of paintings that bring the charm and character of these racing legends back to life.
Some of these glorious protagonists could not withstand the turbulences of the last century. The resonant and in their time internationally important emblems do not appear today anymore, which is why they have become extinct in our emotional memory. For me the main distinctive feature of this painting series lies in this contemporaneity. The following chapter 1 is therefore dedicated to the overall winners, whose production has discontinued: MPD.
