Project description
From the first durability races for "horseless wagons" in the first half of the19th century to today´s Formula 1 events with breathtaking speed, motorsport on its eventful way has gone through a development with great triumphs, bitter tragedies and spectacular technological developments. Legends were born in unforgettable moments and myths created that fascinates car fans worldwide until today.
This magic attraction inspired me to artistically deal with this topic in art that enters a discourse with the cult, the energy an the emotional connection with the heroes of classical motorsports history.
In the end of 2012 I began developing the project Legends of Motorsports and revive the centennial history of car racing sports in its glorious stages.
The artworks being developed in this series takes up the fascination of the golden era of early motorsports and bring the pioneering spirit of those days back to light.
